Ponden Hall

Ponden Hall is a manor house that was built in Stanbury, West Yorkshire in 1634 by Robert Heaton. It has gained its famous status for being the inspiration for Thrushcross Grange, which was the home of the Linton family, Edgar, Isabella, and Cathy in Wuthering Heights written by Emily. Although the actual hall does not bear an exact resemblence to that of Thrushcross Grange in the novel historians are definate that this is Thrushcross Grange of Wuthering Heights.
